How it works

Transparency

Aiding Souls is a small, community-led initiative. Here's an honest account of how it works.

How the monthly pool works

A group of people contribute a small amount of their own money each month. There is no prescribed amount and no pressure to contribute every month. These contributions are pooled together into a shared fund.

How initiatives are selected

We identify genuine needs through local connections and trusted collaborators, weighed against the resources we have available at the time. We prioritise practical, achievable help over broad promises.

What contributions support

Food, basic necessities, community support, animal care, practical assistance (such as help navigating paperwork or housing decisions), and small initiative-related expenses. See the full breakdown on our Contribute page.

How records can be maintained

[Describe here how records of contributions and spending are kept and reviewed — for example, a simple shared ledger, periodic community updates, or an external review. Replace this placeholder with your actual process.]

What we can and cannot provide

We are a small, community-funded initiative — not a large institution. We do what we can, where we can, through the initiatives listed on our Initiatives page. We cannot guarantee that every request will be fulfilled, and we do not offer services such as formal legal representation, guaranteed housing outcomes, medical assistance, or emergency services unless explicitly stated otherwise.

How collaborations work

Organisations, professionals and individuals can collaborate with us across any of our initiatives — through the Advocacy Network, Nevera Homes, Street Souls, or by connecting us with a community need. Reach out via our Contact page to discuss.

What we have been able to do

Real figures will be published here as they become available. Numbers tell part of the story — they don't tell the whole one.
